The Idealist

Last week we had our first Personal & Professional Practice Lecture on who we are and how we describe ourselves. Throughout the lecture we were explained that we shouldn't just describe ourselves using facts (e.g. 19 years old, student, etc.) in a professional environment, we should use a language that can help others understand us better.

We learnt about the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) which is a series of four simple questions which help to describe what a person is like. these questions are:

Are you an Extrovert (E) or an Introvert (I)?
Do you use Sensing (S)  or Intuition (N)?
Do you use Thinking (T) or you Feelings (F)?
Do you use Judgement (J) or Perception (P)?

We were given more details about each option and what traits the generally had, with this I chose four options do get one of the sixteen MBTI types.

INFP

Idealistic, loyal to their values and to people who are important to them. Want an external life that is congruent with their values. Curious, quick to see possibilities, can be catalysts for implementing ideas. Seek to understand people and to help them fulfill their potential. Adaptable, flexible, and accepting unless a value is threatened.

I would say that this is a pretty accurate description of me; I am quite the introvert and would like to be more outgoing. I'm quite creative and like to think of ideas. Overall I think the MBTI types are quite a useful way to identify someone quickly in a professional matter.

Though I think "Performing a noble service to aid society" is a slight exaggeration! C:
